Ministry of State for Antiquities is up to launch a restoration project at Lahun / A Régiségügyi Minisztérium a műemlékek helyreállítására irányuló projektet indít Lahunban

The online edition of The Egyptian Gazette reports that the Government has agreed to launch an urgent restoration project at Lahun. Zahi Hawass, Minister of Antiquities announced that he had ordered the formation of an ad hoc committee to work out a comprehensive plan for restoration and further excavations. These operations have been substantiated by the negligence and unprofessional approach of the Egyptian mission headed by Al-Ayedi.
Up to this point, the Hungarian mission, which has been carrying out a survey fieldwork at the site since 2008 with special emphasis on documentation and conservation, has not been asked to contribute to the Ministry's restoration project.
